  • From its trailhead just before the crest of the old Laurel Lakes 4x4 road, at 9,910 feet, the 4.2-mile Edith Lake trail immediately enters the John Muir Wilderness. From the wilderness boundary it climbs nearly 1,000 feet of elevation and then descends into Edith Lake.
