Sport Climbing at Horseshoe Slabs

Do you have Climbing Experiences you'd like to share? Find out How!

  • Not to be confused with the Horseshoe Boulder, the Horseshoe Slabs, located on the south end of Horseshoe Lake, offers a range of beginner to intermediate single-pitch bolted sport climbing routes. Great for teaching and learning, the rock here is excellent-quality granite, mostly open slab rather than the classic Sierra crack climbing you find elsewhere. The area is cool and shady, with easy access at the end of a short use trail off the Horseshoe Lake Loop and plenty of room at the base for staging belays.
