Photography at Twin Lakes Vista

Do you have Photography Experiences you'd like to share? Find out How!

  • With easy access by car or the Lakes Basin Trolley, Twin Lakes Vista is a perfect starting point for a photographic exploration of the scenic Mammoth Lakes Basin, and a great place for family portraits with a dramatic alpine backdrop. Interpretive signs give a good sense of context for the area. Early in the morning shoot across Twin Lakes to Twin Falls and first light on the Mammoth Crest. Late in the day, cross the road and set up for a long-lens shot across the Long Valley Caldera to the alpenglow on the Glass and White Mountains. In fall, the colors can be glorious along the creek and the shores of the lake.
